Zachary Freire-Aviña grew up in a small farming town in Northern California. He graduated with honors from Philadelphia University with a degree in Business Management and a minor in Psychology. He subsequently received a Master’s of Business Administration from this same institution. Mr. Freire-Aviña came back to California over a decade ago to attend law school in San Diego, where he received his Juris Doctor with a concentration in employment law. In law school, he achieved top grades in multiple classes, including Advanced Contracts and Labor Law.
Mr. Freire-Aviña has been recognized for his legal advocacy on numerous occasions, including the Top 40 Under 40 for civil litigation in 2024. He has several years’ experience representing individuals and businesses both as an attorney and as a consultant. He has a strong background in heavily regulated practice areas, including labor and employment, government claims, and construction cases. In addition to his admission to practice law in California, Mr. Freire-Aviña is also admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia and the State of Washington (pending).
At WPGCH, Mr. Freire-Aviña primarily represents government entities and school districts in a variety of legal matters. His cases include labor and employment disputes, personal injury, premises liability and other property claims, and negligence-based claims. In addition to these practice areas, Mr. Freire-Aviña remains a well-rounded attorney by dedicating time to various other practice areas, including work on behalf of Plaintiffs.
Mr. Freire-Aviña’s professional organization memberships include the American Bar Association, San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego Defense Lawyers, and the Tom Homann LGBTQ+ Law Association. He also maintains an active role in his Homeowner’s Association, serving as a Board Member and liaison.
